The studio
Two brothers, one studio.
We're James and Jarrod Prosser, based between Tasmania and Victoria, Australia.
We've always played games and pulled them apart, curious about what makes a simple idea feel good. We started J Games Lab to finally ship our own.
We're a small independent studio, making the sort of games you can pick up for a few minutes and come back to for another run. Wick Rider is our first playable browser demo. We're still pre-launch, learning by making, playing and improving it.
How we work
A small team means we can try an idea, play it and change it without much ceremony. We put games in front of people early and keep coming back to the controls, the timing and the feeling of one more go.
We use AI tools, including Claude, throughout development, from prototyping code to pixel art and sound, which lets two people build and test ideas far faster. Every game is directed, played and tuned by us.
What's next
We're polishing Wick Rider for mobile, planning live features for future runs and starting our second title. Those live features are still ahead of us. For now, you can play the browser demo and tell us what you think.
